Tying the Knot #10

: Capturing Split Seconds That Last a Lifetime

Tawnie + Steve

What happens when you fall in love with a photographer? You never miss another precious moment. As a photographer, Tawnie captures all the precious events shared with her family, turning ordinary moments to extraordinary memories.

“Steve was wearing this ridiculous jacket with Chinese dragons all over it, so I had to ask him to touch his jacket. He looked right at me and said, ‘Of course!’”

Q. How did you guys first meet and fall in love?

A. We met at my job through a mutual friend of ours. Steve was wearing this ridiculous jacket with Chinese dragons all over it, so I had to ask him to touch his jacket. Haha. He looked right at me and said, “Of course!” The following weekend, a group of our mutual friends went out and we both ended up there and hung out for the night. Later in the summer we all took a trip to OCMD where we spent a whole week with one another and stayed together after that.

“Steve told everyone, from the day he met me, he was going to marry me.”

Q. How did you know you wanted to marry each other and who wanted to tie the knot first?

A. How did you know you wanted to marry each other & who wanted to tie the knot first? Steve told everyone, from the day he met me, he was going to marry me. I knew I wanted to marry him after a festival we attended with my kids, seeing how much they loved being together and we all wanted to be a family.

“I wanted something beautiful and different.”

Q. Why did you choose HIDDENSPACE, how did you hear about us, and what made you decide on our Lindsey Ring

A. I have followed this brand for a few years and knew I wanted something beautiful and different. He chose the ring because of its unique design and it completely fits her style.

“He was so nervous he did a lap around the loft and forgot to put the ring on my finger!”

Q. Tell us about the details of the proposal & the wedding. How did you feel? How did it go?

A. Steve had the whole thing planned from start to finish. He arranged for all of our friends and family to attend a masquerade party at a mill in our town. We all got ready in a loft suite above the venue and asked me in front of the big window overlooking the town with everyone watching. I started crying and my hands were shaking. He was so nervous he did a lap around the loft and forgot to put the ring on my finger! The rest of the night was perfect with the venue playing our song and giving us a special toast to celebrate.

“And spent the night dancing by the water.”

Q. Describe your romantic night or the most romantic day you guys have ever shared.

A. One of our most romantic nights was our beach trip with friends. We dressed up for a night out on the water. Had dinner outside during sunset and spent the night dancing by the water.

“No matter what is happening, [...] we will always see each other at home.”

Q. Any advice to couples or newlyweds? Anything else you’d like to share with the world?

A. Make each other laugh and always be a safe play for your partner to run to. We have a saying that no matter what is happening, good or bad, we will always see each other at home.
