Tying the Knot #15
: 'Til Death
Nina + Seánan
Discovering the world together and sharing the magic of Christmas in Paris are just a couple of the enchanting moments we admire. But what truly matters is navigating life’s journey side by side, proving that, in the end, love is all about being a united team with your ‘forever person.’
"When Nina became the first and last thing I thought of everyday, I knew."
Q. How did you guys first meet and fall in love?
A. We met through a dating website. Seánan had just moved to the city and was looking to meet new people, and Nina saw his photo and thought he was ridiculously handsome! Our first date was at a barcade. We played lots of arcade games, then got pizza and went to another bar. Seánan made some silly jokes and totally woo'd Nina over. We fell in love over time. We spent 5 years together traveling and having adventures all over the world before we decided to get married.
Nina: I just knew it was love when I missed him every time we weren't together and I didn't want to be apart from him.
Seánan: When Nina became the first and last thing I thought of everyday, I knew.
"[...] he was my forever person."
Q. How did you know you wanted to marry each other and who wanted to tie the knot first?
A. Nina: I wanted to tie the knot first. I only saw my life with Seánan and knew that he was my forever person.
Seánan: When I realized she was my person, and I didn't want anyone else.
"It was an amazing introduction to our new life as husband and wife.
I was relieved and excited to call Nina my wife."
Q. Tell us about the details of the proposal & the wedding. How did you feel? How did it go?
A.
The Proposal –
Seánan: After a long day, we were winding down for the night, had dinner and drinks, and I decided to pop the question. I was happy and excited to start planning our future, and instead of waiting for it to be some huge event I wanted to just ask her.
Nina: We were relaxing at home and Seanan just got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He told me later that he had been trying to think of all these extravagant ways to ask me but at the end of the day all that mattered was the answer. I immediately said yes. I was thrilled.
The Wedding –
Seánan: It was the crescendo of our relationship up to that point and stemmed from a lot of planning. Lots of time and love went into it. It was an amazing introduction to our new life as husband and wife. I was relieved and excited to call Nina my wife.
Nina: It was magical. We focused heavily on the details and made the theme as close to a representation of us as possible. I was elated to be marrying the man of my dreams but also a little nervous about all eyes on me. Overall, it was fantastic. We had a great time and everything came together.
"Christmas in Paris"
Q. Describe your romantic night or the most romantic day you guys have ever shared.
A. The most romantic day we have ever shared together was spending Christmas in Paris. We stayed in Montmartre and went to all of the little shops in the village to curate our Christmas dinner. We had so much fun that night just exploring and being together in a different country. Then we went back to our airbnb and cozied up together watching Christmas movies.
Q. Any advice to couples or newlyweds? Anything else you’d like to share with the world?
A. Communication is the key to happiness. At the end of the day you are a team!
